As a Creative Director, I had the opportunity to lead the branding and design for SKHQ, an app developed by Super Kaiju Nation. SKHQ is tailored for the Trading Card Game (TCG) community, serving as a comprehensive tool for locating events and shops, managing personal and community calendars, and staying updated on news related to popular TCGs like Pokémon TCG, Magic: The Gathering, Lorcana and much more.
The core of the SKHQ app is its ability to connect users with events and shops tailored to their favorite TCGs. My approach to the UI/UX design centered around ease of use and personalization. The challenge was to create an interface that could handle a wealth of information while remaining intuitive and user-friendly.
I designed the app's interface to be clean and organized, with clear navigation paths that allow users to effortlessly browse events, locate nearby shops, and customize their experience based on their favorite games. The calendar feature was particularly important, so I ensured it was not only visually appealing but also functional, with easy event scheduling and integration with the user’s calendar.
To enhance user engagement, I incorporated personalized news feeds and notifications, ensuring users stay informed about the latest updates from their preferred TCGs and stores. The result is an app experience that feels tailor-made for each user, fostering a strong connection between the TCG community and the events they care about.
